Run a belt test and promote students

Belt tests live under Inbox › Promotions, in the Tests card. You can also open an upcoming test from Coming up on your Dashboard. By default, owners, admins and instructors can record results, and front desk staff can view tests but not score them.

Record results on test night

1. Open the test and tap Open runsheet.
2. As each student arrives, tap Check in.
3. Tap Pass, Fail or No-show for each student. Made a mistake? Tap Undo to put the result back to pending.
4. Tapping Pass promotes the student right away. Their new belt and date are saved and QuickKicks sends the family a congratulations email.
5. To give certificates, tap Issue certificates for all who passed on the runsheet, or Issue cert next to one student. This needs a belt-promotion certificate template, which an owner or admin creates in Admin › Settings › Certificates.
6. When you are done, tap Mark remaining pending as no-show for anyone who did not come, then Mark completed on the test page.

Promote one student without a test

1. Open the student's profile and go to their progress section.
2. Use Promote or correct the belt.
3. Promote records the new belt and emails the family. Correct fixes a wrong belt without recording a promotion or sending an email.

Recommend a student instead

1. Go to Inbox › Promotions and open Ready to test. It lists students who have met every requirement for their next belt.
2. Tap Recommend next to a student.
3. The recommendation waits in Promotions. Approving it updates the belt and sends the congratulations email. Rejecting it deletes it.
