Customizing your belt and rank ladder
How to set up the ranks for your style, including stripes, colors, and dual-color belts.

Every school's ladder is different. QuickKicks lets you shape yours to match your curriculum. By default, owners and admins can edit ranks.
Where to edit
Go to Admin › Settings › Ranks & progression. Each rank belongs to a discipline, so add a discipline first if you don't have one. Starting fresh? Use Browse starter content to fill a ladder for your style, then adjust it.
Adding a rank
- Tap New belt (the button uses your school's word for rank).
- Enter the Name, for example "Yellow Belt" or "Level 2".
- Optional: under Appearance, pick a color, a second color for a two-tone belt, camouflage print, a stripe color, and how many Stripes the belt shows.
- Optional: set Promotion requirements, such as minimum classes, minimum time at this rank, stripes earned, instructor ratings, or an age range.
- Save. The new rank is added at the end of the ladder.
Stripes
A rank's stripe count is how many stripes it can show. Instructors award stripes one at a time from the student's profile. If you want stripes to matter for promotion, add a Stripes earned requirement to the rank.
Renaming for your style
Go to Admin › Settings › Vertical & vocabulary. Pick your business type and, under Customize terms, change words like "belt" to "level", "grade" or "stage".
Reordering
Tap Reorder on the ladder and use the arrows to move a rank up or down. Each move saves. Order matters because it drives class eligibility and promotions.
Retiring or deleting a rank
To stop using a rank, untick Active. You can delete a rank only when no students hold it and it has no curriculum items, videos, tests or promotion history. If it can't be deleted, QuickKicks tells you why.
