Setting up family discounts

Family discounts take a percent off each extra child's membership automatically. They are off until you create a rule.

Set up a rule

1. Go to Admin > Settings > Family discounts.
2. Click New rule.
3. Give it a name. Families see it on their bills and in the portal (for example "Sibling discount").
4. In Applies starting at, enter which child it starts with. 2 means the second child onward.
5. Enter the Percent off and click Create rule.

To give a bigger discount to a third child, add a second rule starting at 3. The rule with the highest matching number wins.

How it is worked out

• Rules apply to each billing parent's memberships across all programs.
• Memberships are put in order by start date. The oldest pays full price and later ones get the discount.
• If one child stops, the others move up automatically.
• A membership that has a coupon does not also get the family discount.
