Importing students from your old system

Before you start

1. Export your data from your old system as CSV files (not XLSX). Each file must be 2 MB or smaller.
2. Set up your rank ladder and programs first, so imported ranks and memberships have something to match.

Import in this order

1. Go to Admin › Settings › Import data.
2. Pick Students & families first: parents, children and their links.
3. Upload the CSV.
4. Review the plan. Nothing is saved until you apply it.
5. Then import Memberships and Belts / ranks. Both need the students imported first. Leads can be imported any time.

Column names

Spark Membership and Kicksite exports can be dropped in unchanged; their columns are mapped automatically. For other systems, rename your columns to match the format shown on each import page.

Memberships and billing

Imported memberships are created as pending, so nothing is charged until you collect cards again. Duplicate rows (same student, program and start date) are skipped.

What isn't imported

Payments and attendance history stay in your old system. Rank history can be imported with the rank history importer.
